Introduction
Since the late 2000s and early 2010s, Suzume has been my main muse for my crossover fanworks. Everytime, I would think of a possible new crossover AU after I watched a new anime, played a new video game or rewatch/replay a anime or video game, Suzume would always be the first canon character appeared in my mind as a protagonist of the said crossAU.
Canon
To know about Suzume herself, Suzume is a supporting character from the manga and anime series, Konjiki No Gash Bell! (Zatch Bell!), a Shounen manga, written and illustrated by Makoto Raiku. When I was first introduced to the Gash Bell back in 2006 when the English dub aired on Cartoon Network, I did not know Suzume existed until my mother randomly checked out a Gash Bell manga volume from the library one day and give it to me to read it. It was Volume 7 and that was the volume where I got introduced to Suzume.
I really liked chapter 58. It showed a lot about Suzume's character at my first expression of her. And I liked how the story plot was so far so I decided to give the anime a try. Soon, I was exposed to Suzume hate on the internet, thanks to her anime protrayal which I find it very distasteful. I remember shipping Suzume with her canon love interest, Kiyomaro so hard that I made character and shipping defenses for Suzume and KiyoSuzu since Suzume's relationship with Kiyomaro was also hated. When the Zatch Bell anime ended, I started to read the manga from the beginning and I noticed how much difference the protrayals between Manga! Suzume and Anime! Suzume.
Roleplaying
In early 2010s, I started my very first Suzume RP blog. My RP experiences inspired what I am today: A crossover obsessed with HIGH muse for Suzume crossover shipping. Outside of RPing, I started to cross-ship Suzume and writing her as the protagonist in my crossover fanfics like crazy. Nowsdays, I hardly RP on Tumblr because of past drama and negativity, so I stick to character.ai, using Suzume as my persona. It wasn't for the RPs on tumblr from years ago, I probably wouldn't be here, explaining about my Suzume-crossover obsession.
